An Altadena, Calif. man who claims he’s the rightful recipient of the world’s greatest lottery prize could possibly be charged with submitting a false police report, The US Solar claims.

Jose Rivera sued $2.08 billion Powerball winner Edwin Castro in February 2023, per week after he claimed the prize. Rivera alleged that he, not Castro, purchased the golden ticket from Joe’s Service Heart in Altadena on November 7, 2022.
